Future City Fourways is empowered by resident and business sponsorships to create safer, cleaner and better maintained high traffic routes.

Phase one of the Future City Fourways™ project shall cover William Nicol Drive from Steyn City to the Western By-pass, and Witkoppen Road from Douglas Drive to Main Road, Lonehill.

The Future City Fourways™ initiative is grounded on South Africa’s City Improvement District (CID) Gauteng Provincial Ordinance No 12 of 1997, which provides successful applicants with the legislated powers to provide supplementary and complementary services above those supplied by government.

Future City Fourways™ business model brings together best practices, innovative approaches, high-tech solutions and equipped professionals to address the long-standing problems around urban decay and traffic and by law enforcement in Fourways.

Future City Fourways™ is based on a novel approach to funding. Although a Council-approved area upliftment organisation provides the authority to raise levies on all ratepayers that fall within the designated areas of improvement, Future City Fourways™ will avoid additional levies on rates to fund this initiative. A completely different funding approach to traditional and, consequently, struggling city improvement district models will be applied, making the Future City Fourways™ model sustainable and substantially superior to others.

Public participation and support

In line with the requirements of the CID Gauteng Provincial Ordinance No 12 of 1997, Future City Fourways™ will continue to enter into public participation processes with the stakeholders of Fourways, engaging with businesses and residents through meetings and the media to seek their support for Future City Fourways™.

Service Areas

Seed funding to establish Future City Fourways was donated by Fidelity Security Services. This funding enabled us to launch the non profit company at a function held at Montecasino on 9 July 2015 and generate marketing collateral, including the original version of this website.
