Future City Fourways’ CID breaks traditional funding mould to create sustainability

Traditional funding models for improvement districts, which have loaded the rates of already heavily burdened ratepayers, are beginning to fail. Recently, one improvement district administrator claimed to have raised more than R400-million from Johannesburg ratepayers in extra levies. The question is: Is the traditional CID funding model a sustainable solution going forward? Future City Fourways thinks not.
